WHO WE ARE
We are a group of Africans in the diaspora who share the view that sustainable development can be best achieved by investing directly in the people.
We are committed to redirect 1% of the diaspora’s annual remittances into Africa’s economy creating knowledge based jobs and real and lasting economic growth.
With over 250 million people, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous, most promising and the second-largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa. In February 2011, Citigroup projected that Nigeria will have the highest average GDP growth in the world between 2010 and 2050. The New York Times reported that “Nigerians are the most educated immigrants in the United States. 1 out of 5 Nigerian immigrants in the United States holds a Bachelor’s Degree. 3 out of 5 Nigerians who migrated to America between 1979 and 1989 holds a Master’s Degree. The median family household income in this category is $150,000 per annum. According to the World Bank, “Nigerians Abroad remitted over $25 billion in 2015” the largest direct contribution to Nigeria’s economy. This figure does not include the informal channel of remittances which is estimated at additional $10 billion. These stats illustrate the colossal socioeconomic capital of the Nigerian diaspora.
